Lea's First Holy Communion in Toronto
ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE THINGS EVER IS WORKING WITH THE SAME FAMILIES OVER AND OVER AGAIN…
We love being able to develop our relationship together, to celebrate and document these milestones with the same group of people, and to even learn more and more about people/families the more we continue to shoot! It makes us feel apart of the family and welcome which in turn makes these photos seem even more special to both us and them.
We met Lea and her super sweet family when we shot this surprise birthday party last winter so when we were asked to meet up with the family again to photograph Lea’s first holy communion we were thrilled! I won’t lie, her communion ended up taking place at the tail end of a very long week and I was super tired and very much looking forward to finally having a day off but as soon as I got their condo and saw everyone again, I was quickly reminded why I love doing this so much! Their energy and warmth radiated throughout the whole day and it was so much fun to catch up with familiar faces and even have people say “oh yes, I remember you!”
Mass was held at Our Lady of Sorrows at Bloor and Royal York in Toronto and is easily one of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen in the city! It was also extra sentimental because it’s exactly where Lea’s parents got married years and years ago with the exact same family who was now present for Lea’s communion! After mass we walked up the block to Vibo and had an incredible family style lunch followed by some very beautiful and even more tasty dessert.
